THE DEVON CHEFS FORUM, a collection of the most prestigious and talented chefs working in the South West, were out in force this week as they attended a clay pigeon shoot and game smoking demonstration at Lewtrenchard Manor, Okehampton, in preparation for the next game season. We provided Bradley Smokers for Peter Gorton (Chef/Owner Gorton’s of Tavistock) to demonstrate the plethora of delicious ways that game meat can be incorporated into restaurant menus. He showcased wood pigeon, partridge, pheasant and venison in a selection of delicious canapés. Following the demonstration, Peter ran a chef’s quiz to test culinary knowledge the prize being the fabulous Bradley Digital Six Rack Smoker complete with Cold Smoke Adaptor. John Watkins, Managing Director of the UK Bradley Smoker distributor, Grakka Limited, presented the prize on behalf of Outdoor Gourmet to deserving and knowledgable winner Chef Anton Buttery from Langmans Restaurant in Callington.
The event was co-sponsored by Country Sports South West, ever keen to encourage the use of game in all forms of cookery.
